The Plastics Group of America
Professor Polymer

Hi, I am Professor Polymer.

I am TPG's representative for all things Plastic. I am here to assist you with technical issues and questions that you may have about our Polifil® and Polifil® RP-Reprocessed line of resins. I am also a tool and guide to help you in many other areas as well. I maintain a complete up-to-date listing of Physical Property Data Sheets for our Polifil® and reprocessed line of resins. Not only can you view them on line but I have also made them printer friend so you can have your very own copy. Check back often as we are continually improving all of our products and making adjustments and modifications to meet the ever-changing needs of our customers.

As a four-year recipient of the prestigious Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP) award, we understand safety and the need for our customers to have quick access to product safety data. If you need a current Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for any of our products, this is the place to go.

Ok we love to sell you resin but we want you to know how to process it as well. TPG has developed resin specific Processing Guidelines, to assist you in getting the most out of our Polifil® and Polifil® RP-Reprocessed lines of resin. I know it is hard to bring the monitor over to manufacturing area to read these Guidelines, so once again I have made them printer friendly so you can print and go.

Occasionally you may run into some issues while processing one of our quality lines of resin. This can happen to the best of us. So take a look at our Troubleshooting Guide. This is a tool we have developed to assist you in determining the cause and corrective actions to many common problems that may arise. If you want a copy of your very own, I don't mind, that's why it is printer friendly.

Sometimes there are questions that keep you up at night. Well, the folks at TPG don't want you to lose any sleep over the ones about Plastic, so they have made me, Professor Polymer, available to answer those questions online here at "Ask Professor Polymer". I will make every effort to answer your questions about resins, processing and plastics. If your "Ask Professor Polymer" question is chosen for publication, you will receive one of our Professor Polymer Lands-End Shirts. Also, I maintain an archive of all "Ask Professor Polymer" questions. Please feel free to browse and print any of them that might be of interest to you.

To assist you I have developed some tools to make things easier. Check out our printer friendly versions of Common Acronyms, Common Terminology and Conversion Factors. I will continue to make your life and mine easier by updating and adding to these listings. Also, you can view our Polifil® Applications Chart in PDF form.

I hope these Guides and Tools will become an integral part in assisting you in determining your resin needs and answering many of your questions. If there is anything else you can think of that might be a benefit to you and others, please let me know so I can add it here to the Professor Polymer section of The Plastics Group web site.

Thank you and visit often,

Professor Polymer
